My sis has been reading the old Sherlock Holmes stories. Tonight she comes home from work and says with a straight face, “Holmes and Watson ejaculate a LOT.”
And since we’re both 12 year old boys she then shares a passage where Watson is sleeping in a room with Sherlock and an “ejaculation” wakes him up.
Want more? My sister is surprisingly fast at finding these. How about Holmes standing over Watson’s bed one early morning? “Very sorry to knock you up, Watson, but it’s the common lot this morning. Mrs. Hudson has been knocked up, she retorted upon me, and I on you.”
I know Sherlock just means that he gave John a start, but my fanboy mind is telling me there is something freaky go’n on at 221B Baker Street.

Those passages always made me howl with laughter too. I remember reading Jane Eyre and there’s a long passage describing the scenery and then she writes: “Suddenly a rude noise broke upon my ear” and I thought: What happened? Did you fart?
